Roland Berger expands operations practice with Marcus Schüller and Hannah Mareen Zühlke

Munich, November 2019: Roland Berger has added to the strength of its operations team, with procurement experts Marcus Schüller and Hannah Mareen Zühlke coming in as Senior Partner and Principal, respectively, to support the consultancy's clients since November 1. "Many companies are working on the transformation and digitalization of their procurement function," said Sven Marlinghaus, Senior Partner and Global Co-Head Procurement at Roland Berger. "As such, we have seen a continuous rise in the demand for advisory services here in recent years. The current economic cooldown and resulting efficiency programs are further reinforcing this trend. We are therefore very pleased to be able to add to our already strong team and welcome Marcus Schüller and Hannah Mareen Zühlke."

Marcus Schüller joined Roland Berger as a Senior Partner. He has more than 20 years of professional experience in operations consulting. Previously he was the co-owner of the leading consulting boutique specializing in procurement and supply chain projects and latterly headed the operations practice of an international consulting firm. His work focuses on the transformation and digitalization of the purchasing function and on delivering efficiency programs. Marcus Schüller advises companies in the automotive and consumer goods industries, the health sector and mechanical engineering, among other verticals. He studied Business Administration at the University of Cologne and holds a Ph.D. in the same discipline.

Hannah Mareen Zühlke is a new Principal at Roland Berger. She also joined the company from a large international consulting firm. In her ten years in consulting, she has delivered complex transformation and digitalization projects in procurement functions. Her clients include companies from the automotive and consumer goods industries and mechanical engineering. Alongside her project work, Hannah Mareen Zühlke also deepened her digitalization expertise in recent years by establishing global partnerships with world-leading technology providers in the artificial intelligence space.

"We have successfully invested in expanding our procurement practice in recent years, evolving into a leading advisor in this field," said Oliver Knapp, Senior Partner and Co-Head Operations at Roland Berger. "With their focus on transformation and digital solutions, Marcus Schüller and Hannah Mareen Zühlke underline the clear course we have taken. The procurement function is currently experiencing a radical transformation in companies across industry verticals, with the pressure to change driven by new technologies and volatile markets. Efficiency gains in procurement have a direct impact on corporate profitability and, given the business climate, we therefore expect demand to remain strong."
